Technical and Leadership Development for a UN Food Agency (2013-2024)
EnCompass partnered with a UN food agency to design and deliver its flagship development series, supporting staff at three levels, Country Directors, Heads of Program, and emerging leaders. Across these initiatives, our team helped build the leadership, collaboration, and technical skills staff needed to operate effectively from stable contexts through emergency preparedness, readiness, and response.
We designed a comprehensive blended learning approach that combined: experiential in-person workshops, engaging virtual sessions, self-paced e-learning and video-based content, coaching and mentoring, and practical design projects implemented in participants’ duty stations.
Our team developed all learning designs and materials that integrated both technical content and leadership practice. Over the life of the initiative, more than 600 staff participated, representing at least 75 country offices, all regional bureaus, and headquarters locations, with 95% reporting improved skills and 90% citing stronger cross-regional collaboration. Participants highlighted that the programs offered a “a safe space to reflect on leadership challenges” and “practical tools for managing complexity.”
Together with this UN food agency, we helped create a sustained learning journey that not only built individual capabilities, but also contributed to a more connected, confident, and effective global program leadership cadre.
