The Evaluators’ Institute’s (TEI’s) flagship July program is just around the corner! EnCompass LLC and Claremont Graduate University are pleased to announce a number of new additions to the 28-course program, happening from July 9 through July 21 at the Hilton Washington, D.C./Rockville Hotel. The TEI community will enjoy new events, increased access to technology, and additional expert faculty members to enrich their evaluation learning.

TEI is integrating technology into the July learning experience. The July program will include our mobile computer lab courses, where students can engage with on-the-spot access to data sets, learning materials, and more. Lab courses include “Applied Statistics for Evaluators” taught by Dr. Theodore Poister, and “Applied Regression” and “Hierarchical Linear Modeling” both brought to you by Dr. Gary Henry.

TEI is also delighted to offer two new courses this July and welcome a new TEI faculty member. Dr. Kimberly Fredericks will be teaching her course on “Organizational Network Analysis” on July 9 and 10. We extend a warm welcome to Dr. Fredericks. Dr. John Bryson, who teaches our course on “Working with Evaluation Stakeholders” will be teaching a new course called “Strategic Planning with Evaluation in Mind” on July 16 and 17.

During the upcoming program, TEI is hosting two special events:

  • On July 11, TEI and Washington Evaluators (WE) are co-sponsoring a panel on “Evaluating Development Effectiveness,” chaired by EnCompass CEO and AEA President-Elect Tessie Catsambas, with panelists from USAID, Mercy Corps, and the World Bank.

  • On July 17, TEI and the Center for Culturally Responsible Evaluation and Assessment (CREA) are sponsoring a panel on “Ethics and Evaluation,” featuring TEI Director Dr. Stewart Donaldson as the chair, with speakers from American University, Westat, and the Annie E. Casey Foundation.

Both panels are free and open to all, but space is limited. Please be sure to RSVP if you would like to attend in person; for those who are unable to be with us on site, we will livestream these two special events via the TEI Facebook page.

The TEI team is standing by to answer any questions you may have about the upcoming program. Registration is still open, but courses are filling up quickly! If you are interested in learning more about upcoming deliveries and future events, please sign up for the TEI mailing list here.
